a scent story…
When I tell people that I grew up in a small Lancashire market-town, with it’s steep cobbled streets and even steeper factory chimneys, a town that sits defiantly on the edge of the great Pennine Hills, the image that is often conjured up is one of a bleak, foreboding place. The truth, however, is quite the contrary. For me, the memories of my childhood are that of a place filled with colour, life, and vibrancy.
Of all of these memories, none is more-so vivid than that of the hazy days at the end of summer, when the wind-swept hills of gorse and brush surrounding my home-town would transform into a blazing carpet of triumphant purple, trumpeting the arrival of autumn. It is this memory that inspires the second scent in Carl Mullaney London’s signature collection.
Earthy, aromatic, and majestic.
